The following is a list of Ottawa Buddhist Society events planned for the future:

OBS Summer Social

The committee for social activities has organized an event on August 9th from 12.00 noon to 3.00 p.m at the home of Tina & Kelvin in Gatineau Park near P7 trailhead. 20 minutes drive from Parliament Hill.

You are warmly invited to come to this social gathering. This will be a picnic/barbecue/potluck-style lunch and a midsize barbecue is available. Bring food for approx 20 people, own plates, glasses, cutlery, etc. Lots of indoor and outdoor space is available. Do bring lawn chairs, sunscreen and sun umbrellas for the outdoors.

We will all meet at P7 parking lot in Gatineau park and will walk in from there (Google maps link below). OBS signs will be posted at the parking lot. Car pooling is available.

OBS Hike

On August 9 the OBS is having a hike in Gatineau Park. It will either be the Skyline or the King Mountain trail. This coincides with the Summer Social at the P7 parking lot. The hike takes about 2.5 hours. Roughly 45 minutes will be in noble silence, simply walking with friends on a common (spiritual) path. (if you really must yak in the wilderness you can hang back five minutes….!)

Remember to bring:

Hat, sunscreen, snack, water, bug spray & raingear.

Sturdy shoes, ankle support is ideal though not necessary for this hike. Sandals are not recommended.

Also if you plan to attend the social at 12:00 PM, please bring a potluck dish. Prior to the hike, there will be an opportunity to drop this off at the location of the social.

Tisarana Family Camp

A family camp will be held on The Labour Day weekend which is Saturday September 5^th until Monday September 7^th. Families will be camping close to Tisarana Monastery and the children will be taking part in activities with Ajahn Kusalo. For more details please contact vbartlett@sympatico.ca.
